Nick Samuels – Sales Director
Nick has been in the travel industry for 24 years, 11 of which have been at Ashdown Travel. He has been lucky enough to travel extensively and has a particular passion for ski holidays, the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and Australia. He is a qualified Tourism Australia Aussie Specialist. Nick has developed many wonderful relationships with Tour Operators and hoteliers over the years ensuring that our clients are well looked after wherever they are in the world.
Joanna Moorman – Travel Consultant
Joanna has worked in the travel industry for 8 years, and has been at Ashdown Travel for 4 years. Prior to starting at Ashdown, she worked for a luxury tour operator and has also had experience with hotel contracting and brochure production. She has travelled widely and her knowledge is most comprehensive in the Indian Ocean, Caribbean and Far East. Other favourite destinations include South Africa, Cuba, India, Italy, Brazil, Morocco and Argentina.
Abigail MacGowan - – Travel Consultant
Abigail’s travel career began over 11 years ago when she worked for a Far Eastern specialist, followed by time working in a travel agency in Australia. She returned to the UK and joined Ashdown Travel 3 years ago. Her knowledge is best in Asia especially Indo-China; New Zealand where she is a qualified Kiwi Specialist; and Australia where she is qualified as a Tourism Australia Premier Aussie Specialist. But she has also visited parts of the Caribbean and Indian Ocean and most recently enjoyed her honeymoon in Sicily.
Linda Shotter – Travel Consultant
Linda joined Ashdown 12 years ago in our corporate travel department and now mixes this with leisure sales too. Her travel career started 34 years ago in the House of Commons and Harrods. Linda has flown to many far and wonderful places and her passion for travel is as strong as it was when she first started. Recently she has been out to Australia, Jordan, India and Grenada and other favourite destinations include the USA, Canada, China, Hong Kong and South Africa.
Jo Wolfe – Travel Consultant
Jo has worked in the travel industry for 17 years, 15 of which have been at Ashdown Travel. Her knowledge is varied as over the years she has visited so many destinations, highlights include taking the Eastern & Oriental Express from Bangkok to Singapore and exploring the Kwazul-Natal region of South Africa.
Anne Knight – Travel Consultant
Anne’s career in travel started over 20 years ago, as a campsite courier in France! She has worked in the retail travel side of the industry for 13 years, the last 5 of which with us at Ashdown. Anne has travelled extensively areas of knowledge include the Indian Ocean, South Africa, Caribbean and Australia and she is a Specialist Agent for both Bermuda and Canada. She also regularly frequents Disneyland for her family holidays so has lots of tips for your family holiday to Florida.
James Metcalf – Business Travel Manager
James has been with Ashdown travel for 8 years and has been in the travel industry since 1985 starting out as a trainee at British Airways. James heads up the corporate travel department at Ashdown and is our flight specialist. He loves working on complex itineraries, trying to fit flights around our client’s busy lives. James is very well travelled and memorable trips include Japan, China, South Africa, The Azores, Argentina and Arizona.
Sue Mercer – Travel Consultant
Sue is the newest member of the team. She joins us with plenty of experience, having started her career in travel over 38 years ago. She has previously worked for tour operators and travel agents so has a comprehensive knowledge of the industry, and has also worked in specialist areas such as ski holidays and cruises. Sue is very well travelled and some of her favourite places include the Caribbean and Italy. She is also very experienced at organising overseas weddings, so if you would like to explore getting married abroad Sue is the perfect person to speak to!
